What We Support

The constitution of the Lady Minto Hospital Foundation states that we raise funds :

to increase and improve the provision of medical care of those who live in the area served by the Lady Minto Hospital Foundation and to enhance services and facilities.

WHAT WE SUPPORT

The generosity of our donors enables life-saving, sophisticated medical equipment and facilities at our hospital.   Here are a few examples of what gifts to the Foundation have provided for:

In the Lady Minto Hospital Radiology Department, replacement of the ultrasound machine now offers better image quality and brings the service to current image quality standards allowing for improved diagnostic capabilities.  This new machine is ergonomically designed in order to reduce injury to the operating technician or sonographer. $90,000.

A renovation of the Emergency Room based on suggestions made by the medical staff to better utilize the space, create increased safety and privacy for patients, and to provide each bed station with the necessary diagnostic equipment.  $11,800.

Critical to diagnostic capabilities, a new coagulation analyzer brings our Laboratory up to standard in this important area.  $27,000.

Lady Minto patients benefit from what may be the best hospital food in the Province.  To ensure this ongoing service by the Dietary Department, two new stoves replaced failing equipment in the kitchen.  $11,600.

A portable BP/SP02 monitor and portable I.V. pump helped to equip the new Post- Anesthesia Recovery Room (PARR).  $9,830.

The need to perform biphasic monitoring during cardiac arrest and monitoring required replacement of the aging defibrillator/monitor pacer equipment enhancing our Emergency and advanced cardiac life support capabilities.  $13,900.

The Palliative Care Suite on the Acute Care Unit provides a comfortable and private place for our patients and families at this most difficult of times.  A second Palliative Care room was created for our Extended Care Unit so that residents could remain with familiar staff and surroundings during end-of-life care.  ACU Palliative Care Suite $90,000 ECU Palliative Care Room $71,000
